π₯ The Pentagon Completes Major Drone Swarm Challenge
The Pentagon has completed the most challenging drone defense demonstration to date.
Good Morning.
U.S. and Canadian fighters intercepted Russian and Chinese warplanes off the coast of Alaska, marking the first time strategic bombers from the 2 U.S. adversaries have operated together near North America.
While this joint mission reflects growing cooperation between Moscow and Beijing, it also demonstrates the readiness and effectiveness of North American air defenses, as U.S. and Canadian forces swiftly responded to monitor the situation without any escalation.

The Joint Counter-small Unmanned Aircraft System Office tested prototypes over 4 weeks in June at Yuma Proving Ground.
The demonstration evaluated systems using radars, cameras, machine guns, missiles, and jammers to counter diverse and simultaneous drone attacks.
This particular drone swarm tactical event aimed to enhance detection and defeat capabilities, emphasizing a "layered" defense approach. Data from the demo will inform future military procurement decisions.
