Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader, has indicated a willingness to renew negotiations with the United States over Iran's nuclear program, telling the Iranian government there is "no harm" in engaging with their "enemy".
This opening comes as Iran has significantly advanced its nuclear capabilities since the collapse of the 2015 nuclear deal, enriching uranium to near weapons-grade levels.
However, tensions remain high in the Middle East due to the Israel-Hamas war, and the upcoming U.S. presidential election adds uncertainty to the potential for new diplomatic efforts.
